Recent changes by the Government to the design of A-Levels means that the old system, where pupils followed AS-Levels in Year 12 and A-Levels in Year 13, has now changed. At the West London Free School we are not offering any AS-Level courses. In Year 12 students choose four A-Level subjects to study and one enrichment option. This gives students greater breadth in Year 12. Towards the end of Year 12 students will decide which three subjects to pursue to A-Level; where appropriate students will be able to continue with four A-Levels in Year 13.
The following subjects will all be available to study as A-Level courses.
- Classical Civilisation
- Further Mathematics
- English Literature
- English Language
- Government and Politics
- Religious Studies
- History of Art
- Fine Art
- Physical Education
In addition, students will also be able to select one of the following subjects as an ‘enrichment’ option.
- Computing (GCSE)
- German (GCSE)
- Mandarin (GCSE)
- Ancient Greek (GCSE)
- Extended Project Qualification
- Extended Project Qualification (Music)
- Global Perspectives (Cambridge Pre-U)
