Science at the West London Free School is a thriving and popular subject. Pupils are taught chemistry, physics and biology and engage in a variety of practical and physical experiments to support traditional teaching methods. In Years 7 and 8 the topics covered incorporate all three specialisms, which helps to embed the fundamentals of scientific thinking and process. We aim to develop a genuine passion for science in pupils, which helps their learning and enhances their enjoyment of the subject. By the end of Key Stage 3 it is essential that we have established the fundamental knowledge to build upon in preparation for Key Stage 4 and beyond. We want pupils to think critically, ask the right questions, analyse data, plot graphs, use information to make predictions and draw conclusions, understand the way different factors are linked, and to work safely in the science laboratory.
