2024 GCSE Results
Pupils at the WLFS have received their best set of GCSE results ever, with over half of all GCSEs entered graded 7 to 9. These results should place us amongst the top state comprehensive schools in the country for both progress and attainment.
Amongst our 130 pupils taking GCSEs at the WLFS this year.
- 51% of all grades have been awarded at a Grade 7 to 9 (48% in 2023)
- 81% of all grades have been awarded at a Grade 5 to 9 (76% in 2023)
- 89% of all grades have been awarded at a Grade 4 to 9 (86% in 2023)
- Our Attainment 8 (average grade across eight subjects) is 6.4 (6.1 in 2023)
- Seven pupils gained straight Grade 8s and 9s.
- 85% of pupils achieved a pass in both English and Maths (83% in 2023)
- 63% of pupils achieved the academically demanding EBacc qualification, which requires a GCSE pass in English, Maths, Sciences, a humanity subject (history or geography) and a foreign language.
A record number of WLFS students achieved the grade requirements to attend the WLFS Sixth Form, where students also gained record results at A-level this summer – see here. We hope all students who can choose to stay with us at the WLFS from September.
These results built on a pattern of steady improvement since our first set of GCSE results in 2016, see below:
We are overjoyed to see the results of our Year 11 pupils at WLFS improving each year. This cohort of Year 11s have been a wonderful year group, with incredibly hard-working students, and it has been a pleasure to see how happy they are on results day. We are looking forward to welcoming many of them to the Sixth Form, and will be sending the very best of luck to those who are starting somewhere new. Well done to all the hard-working students, their families who supported them, and the WLFS staff who are such brilliant role models. A happy day!

The pupils and staff at West London Free School have knocked it out of the park with a stellar set of the GCSE results. These are likely to see the school ranked as one of the top non-selective secondary schools in England and Wales. The school has always been traditionally strong in humanities, and we now have a set of outstanding science results taking us to new highs. This reflects the hard work and focus of our pupils and the dedication and expertise of our outstanding teaching staff in all subjects.
