Divinity Curriculum

Pupils who study divinity encounter a vast and diverse range of religious and philosophical ideas which have played, and continue to play, a significant role in shaping our world. Divinity makes an important contribution to the development of pupils’ cultural literacy by helping them to make sense of, and take part, in intelligent  discussion about the complex and influential world of religion and belief. By exploring some of history’s most significant and enduring ideas, pupils’ understanding of their heritage, the modern world and of humanity itself is enriched. An extensive and rigorous knowledge-rich approach at Key Stage 3 ensures that they enter Year 10 with a strong awareness of the universal questions that have troubled humankind through the ages, and also an understanding of the diverse ways in which these questions have been answered.
